Hey There, CEO!

Want to be better than 99% of other wedding pros? If you are anything like me, you do!

Welcome back to the Wedding Pro CEO podcast blog. I’m Brandee Gaar, and today I’m super excited to share some game-changing strategies with you.

These are the 5 strategies I use with my students to help them scale their business and become part of the top 1% of wedding pros who are thriving in this industry.

Ready to dig in? Let’s go!

1. Acknowledge the Economy and Adapt

First up, let’s talk about the economy. Yes, it stinks right now. Prices are inflated, and discretionary income is lower, but that’s not just affecting the wedding industry—it’s global. The key is to acknowledge these challenges and adapt.

Every year since 2017, I’ve had to tweak my business approach based on economic conditions, whether it’s a booming market, a recession, or an election year. Complaining won’t help; adaptation will. Look at how you can adjust your marketing and sales strategies to fit the current economic climate.

Gen Z is coming into the market, and they’re doing things differently—smaller weddings, fewer traditions. Adapt to these changes, and you’ll stay ahead.

2. Make Decisions Based on Facts, Not Fear

Fear can be paralyzing, especially in uncertain times. But to be part of the 1% of successful wedding pros, you need to base your decisions on facts.

Go through your leads, consultations, and bookings data. Identify where the gaps are—do you need more leads, or do you need to improve your conversion rates?

Analyze your sales funnel. If you’re not getting enough leads, focus on your marketing strategies. Are you leveraging social media effectively? Are you building relationships in your local market?

If your conversion rates are low, work on improving your sales techniques.

Facts, not fear, should drive your business decisions.

3. Surround Yourself with the Right People

This one might sound simple, but it’s incredibly powerful.

Surround yourself with other business owners who believe in what you’re trying to achieve and who are already successful.

Being part of a community that pushes you to be better is crucial.

Look for groups or networks of wedding pros who are positive and proactive. Avoid those who constantly complain about the economy or market conditions.

Instead, find those who are thriving and learn from them. Their success will inspire you to push harder and achieve more.

4. Be Relentless

When I say be relentless, I don’t mean work 24/7. I mean focus on the right tasks that move your business forward.

For me, that means dedicating my best hours to sales and marketing before diving into client work. I start my day at 6 a.m., dedicating the first few hours to creating content, engaging on social media, and checking my sales funnel.

You need to prioritize these activities daily. If you’re constantly putting off marketing tasks because of client work, you’re doing it wrong.

Sales and marketing should always come first. Be relentless in your pursuit of scaling your business by being smart with your time and efforts.

5. Stop Making Excuses

Finally, stop making excuses. It’s easy to blame the economy, election years, or other external factors for a bad business year. But every year brings its own set of challenges.

The difference between the 1% succeed and the 99% that don’t is the ability to adapt and push forward.

Instead of complaining, take action. Use the time you spend worrying or venting on social media to do something productive for your business.

Research new marketing strategies, connect with potential partners, or enhance your social media presence. Control what you can and adapt to what you can’t.

These strategies aren’t just about working harder; they’re about working smarter and being strategic in how you approach your business.

If this episode gave you a gut punch, use that as motivation to push yourself harder. I believe in you, and I know you can be part of the top 1% of wedding pros.
