From DIY hobby to BIG business

Kristen Johnson and I met about 10 years ago when she and I were both baby wedding planners!  She had just purchased the company she’d been interning for and I was finding my way in this crazy industry of ours!  

I would say we became fast friendors (vendors who are friends!).  We were on the young side of the industry at the time, we often competed for the same clients and we both had a love for creating out of the box one of a kind events.  I always loved hanging out with Kristen at networking events because she’s hilarious and does not care one bit who hears the crazy things that come out of her mouth!

Kristen left the wedding industry about 3 years ago to focus on being a stay at home mom to her 3 babies.  But it wasn’t long before she realized, her hands were made to create and with the encouragement of her husband, A Girl and Her Glitter was born!  

Kristen believes everyone was designed with a purpose and given gifts to fulfill that purpose.  Her purpose is to use her hands to create larger than life decor for parties, events and more! Kristen is known for her GIANT paper flowers that are absolutely breathtaking!  She designs events for the Knot Couture, she has a show on Bluprint, and she designed Jenna Bush Hager’s baby shower!

Her latest venture is with her super handy hubby Matthew as they renovate their home and show easy, DIY projects that anyone can do!  I love following their Insta stories as Kristen is bold and goofy and hysterical and Matthew is the complete opposite!
