If you’re anything like me, you’ve had some high highs and some low lows over the last year. While social media may make it look all bright and shiny on a daily basis, today I’m taking you behind the scenes of the last 12 months in my business to show you what worked, what didn’t, the lessons that I learned and what I’ll be doubling down on in 2024.
There were so many achievements in 2023, such as launching the Wedding Pro CEO Accelerator in a brand-new format, welcoming 72 new wedding pros to the program, and achieving a considerable increase in revenue. We’ve been able to help transform so many wedding pros businesses and help them realize they CAN create a business they’ve always dreamed of!!
Our losses were equally notable, particularly losing a key employee to the Blush business, which was one of the most challenging parts of the year. There were so many routes that we could’ve taken for the direction of Blush, (one involved closing my Blush business), but with a lot of thinking and talking with the people in my corner, I decided against it!
Another tough pill to swallow was missing our revenue target for Blush. We projected a 20% increase, which we fell short of, but we still did more business in 2023 than in 2022 so that’s amazing. The important takeaway here is not to sit and sulk about the loss, but to understand the reasons behind that loss and create a plan to create the more growth and success for the business in the future.
From this situation, I saw that every employee exit offers a chance to really evaluate your business and gives you the opportunity to restructure different roles in a way that creates business growth. In my case, I explored the idea of hiring a CEO for Blush, an approach I initially thought was crazy and impossible but I soon realized that replacing myself would really benefit the business.
I had to step back into the sales role to fill in the gap for the season and boy was I feeling like a fish out of water. But, I quickly dusted myself off and thoroughly enjoyed the thrill of the “yes,” the exhilaration of closing deals, and the reassurance of seeing my sales techniques still worked. I could say “I still got it!”
That being said, I’m extremely excited for 2024. There are so many changes on the horizon and I’m so excited! I’m also so excited to help so many wedding pros build profits, pay themselves, and grow businesses they’ve always dreamed of owning. Let’s slay 2024 together!
