I don’t know about you, but running wedding business ads has always seemed like something that is so scary in my wedding planning business. As a wedding business coach, I’ve run ads for a while and it seems so natural. But in our wedding planning business not so much. So today, I am talking with experts Daniela and Whitney of Wedding Industry Ads about how you can use Google ads and Meta ads together.
Whitney is a former luxury catering sales pro based in the Austin, TX area. Daniela is an artist and serial entrepreneur in Lubbock, TX. Whitney & Daniela met in 2020 as they were both entering the online world of Facebook Ads Management and have been biz besties ever since. In addition to partnering on WIA, they’ve worked together inside DEJA, Daniela’s agency serving online coaches and course creators.
So sit down, grab a notebook, and takes notes because this one is juicy!
Let’s talk real talk. Spending your precious budget on ads can feel like a giant leap into the unknown. Too many of us have been burnt by the old-school spend-big game in print without seeing the returns. But here’s the twist: Whitney and Daniela share how today’s digital platforms, especially Meta, change the game for all wedding pros! You can actually decide what your ad budget is and track what you’re getting back, making every penny count. And we all know, as small business owners, that that means the world. Every penny does count.
For many wedding industry professionals, the whole ads world is tricky! For most of us, it’s far from our area of expertise. Whitney reminds us that little tweaks can make a massive difference in how effective your ads are. The challenge is real, though; it is not easy. Diving in without getting overwhelmed by the complexity or put off by potential agency costs takes some guts. But, my friends, it can be done and it will be so rewarding when you understand how to do it!
Imagine if Google and Meta were your lead planners, handling the ins and outs of your advertising strategy. While Google’s forte is capturing initial search traffic and building audience based on intent, Meta platforms excel in nurturing relationships and showcasing your brand’s work and authority. Using both platforms together means you’re not just catching eyes; you’re building relationships and turning clicks into clients.
One of the most innovative strategies we discussed is using ads to maintain visibility during busy seasons. When the wedding season hits its peak, and you’re swamped, maintaining an active social media presence can feel next to impossible. Here’s a tip: keep your brand in the spotlight with well-targeted ads. For just a dollar a day, you can keep your services popping up in feeds, ensuring you’re still in the game even when you’re buried in bouquets and seating charts.
That ‘Boost’ button on Meta seems like an easy win, right? Just a click and your reach expands. However, Whitney breaks it down: Boosting might up your visibility, but it doesn’t offer the targeted strategy you get with the Meta Ads Manager. Using the Ads Manager allows for more intentional targeting, objective setting, and retargeting strategies, ending in not just visibility, but action and engagement from your target audience.
