But I’m here to tell you that checking email all day isn’t leadership. It’s reaction mode. And if your day is built around reacting to what other people send you, you aren’t running your company—your inbox is.

Too often, you open your email and immediately start solving problems. You read one, respond, jump to the next, and before you know it, your entire morning is gone. CEO, your inbox is not where work happens; it’s where work gets sorted.
I want you to use the Triage Method. When you open that inbox, you are only deciding which category an email belongs in: Delete, Delegate, or Do (if it’s under two minutes).

If you are beyond the solopreneur stage, the very first thing you should hand over to a VA or assistant is your inbox. But here’s the trick: you have to act like a guest.
We teach our students a color-coded labeling system so you only touch what actually needs your leadership. Your assistant handles the rest.

A lot of wedding pros think “high touch” means “instant reply.” But constant availability actually trains people to expect instant access to you. That is impossible to maintain as you scale!
Set clear boundaries:
“Fast replies don’t build scalable businesses. Focused decisions do. The highest performing business owners I know are not sitting in their inbox all day.”
If you want to build a seven-figure business, you have to stop doing $20 tasks. Timeline tweaks, chasing invoices, and basic vendor logistics are operational tasks. If they are repeatable, they are delegatable.
Your role is Revenue, Strategy, Sales, and Leadership.

Answer: Not if you set expectations! If you communicate your response standards in your Welcome Guide, they feel taken care of because they know exactly when they’ll hear from you. Professionalism isn’t speed; it’s consistency.
Q2: What if I’m a solopreneur and don’t have a VA yet?
Answer: You can still use the Triage Method! Stop using your inbox as a to-do list. Move those tasks into a simple list or PM tool and close the tab. Schedule “Email Blocks” on your calendar so you aren’t reacting all day.
Q3: How do I handle “urgent” vendor emails?
Answer: Most things aren’t as urgent as they feel. If it isn’t affecting a wedding happening in the next 48 hours, it can wait for your scheduled batching time.
