What is a funnel?

Your business funnel is so important because it is the journey that your client ends up taking to book you or work with you. You’re essentially trying to warm people up from not knowing about you at all to wanting to book you without having to do all of the legwork!

The 3 types of sales funnels are:

Cold funnel

There are 3 types of sales funnels: cold funnel, warm funnel, and hot funnel. The cold funnel is your lead funnel which is also called the “excite and attract” funnel. So the cold funnel is where you are trying to get the leads though the door!

Warm funnel

Your warm funnel is your bookings funnel which Carissa also calls the “captivate and convert” funnel. This is where you convert those leads after you get them through the door because that’s ultimately how you’re going to make money right?

Hot funnel

Your hot funnel is your referral funnel! This one is also called the “surprise and delight” funnel! This one is super important because you always want the referrals coming back to you and boost those bookings!

We want to build the know and trust factor with your potential client through your funnel! You want your funnel to be authentic and true to yourself and by doing that you will attract your ideal client that you really want to work with! A funnel also helps create awareness of who you are and makes you an option for for them before they book someone else.

Cold Funnel

The first funnel is the cold funnel! In the cold funnel, you are trying to attract your ideal client to your world and get them excited to work with you!

Usually, they can come into this funnel through two different ways, it can be your website or your Instagram where they can easily find you and land on your website. The main goal is to then attract them to get more information and then they turn into a lead! Which leads us to how can they get more information? You can do that by having the client fill out a contact form, attracting them with a lead magnet, and also their email!

Out of the 3 options, the lead magnet is definitely going to be the most fun and irresistible. A lead magnet is something that you want your client to really WANT to give their information for. Some examples of lead magnets are: Quizzes that lead back to your services, a nugget of information, etc.

What information should you get from your lead magnet?

In the wedding industry, it can be helpful to also ask for the couple’s wedding date and location. This information can give you a better understanding of your potential client’s needs and help you determine if their wedding is a good fit for your services. However, it’s important not to overwhelm them with too many questions. Four questions is the maximum you should ask for in your lead magnet, any more can become a hurdle which will lead to them not filling it out!

What should you use to create these funnels?

  • One of the biggest things you need is email marketing! Email marketing is super important!
  • Use a CRM system (Honeybook, Rockpaper, coin, etc.)
  • Don’t put your leads in your CRM too quickly

Hot funnel

The hot funnel involves several key elements that work together to attract and retain clients. The first step is to get referred by satisfied customers. Word of mouth is one of the most powerful marketing tools available, and a referral from a happy client can go a long way in attracting new business.

Let the referrals come in!
