So… You’ve been thinking about hiring a business coach, but you’re not exactly sure where to start, who to hire, or how they can help? Perhaps you’ve downloaded some freebies from coaches, but you feel like you’ve been running out of options. Or maybe you’ve even taken courses from several coaches already, but you never finished them. Perhaps you invested in some guides they offer, but stored it away for “when you have more time.”

Whatever your situation is or your history with business coaches in the past, maybe you’re thinking to yourself, “How could a business coach be any different than the resources I’ve already invested in?”

Let me tell you all the ways!

Today, I’m going to teach you how a business coach can help you grow and scale your business. Plus, I’ll answer some of the most frequently asked questions I get when an entrepreneur comes to me thinking about hiring me as their business coach!

What is a business coach?

First, let’s start with definitions and define what a business coach is. Ultimately, a business coach is someone who helps you achieve your goals, finds solutions to your problems, and enhances your personal and professional skills! They may also help you develop new skills to meet the demands of a changing workplace.

In other words, a business coach will help you become better at what you do and how you do it!

Why should I consider hiring a business coach?

There are many reasons, but it all boils down to this one idea: a business coach is an investment in yourself and your business — an investment that can help it grow and flourish.

Now, I want to acknowledge that I know investing in your business can be intimidating. I’ve been there before, wondering if it was really a good idea to put my money where I wasn’t 100% guaranteed on the return on my investment.

However, now that I’m nearly two decades into being a business owner, have worked with many business coaches during that time, and am a business coach now, I can promise you that if you find the right business coach for you, you will undoubtedly see a growth in your business, your profits, and your overall happiness.

What are the types of business coaches?

There are actually a ton of different business coaches out there! Some coaches will help you with your marketing, some can help with financial management, others with planning your exit strategy, and many, many more. Not to mention, some business coaches specialize in an industry while others could be generalists. Plus, there are different modalities to coaching. For example, a business coach could provide only in-person coaching, one-on-one virtual coaching, group coaching, or a mix.

The bottom line? Coaches and coaching programs come in many different forms! But even though coaches vary, they all should have these things in common:

  • Empower their clients to make smarter decisions about their business
  • Boost entrepreneurs’ confidence as a business owner
  • Provide strategies for achieving success
  • Teach how to shift their clients’ mindset and perspective about their business and worth
  • Offer support during challenging times

As a business coach for wedding pros and creatives, I view my job as a way to help entrepreneurs grow and scale a sustainable business that creates the financial and time freedom they desire, step into their role as CEO, and build a life that’s aligned with their goals.

I also provide both one-on-one coaching and group coaching because even though we have the same title (business owner) I know not all entrepreneurs operate the same.

The biggest benefit of having a business coach: one-on-one time

As a business owner, you may feel like you’re on your own with your day-to-day tasks and responsibilities. You may think that no one understands the pressures of running a business and that there’s no one to help you make decisions. But with the right business coach, you don’t have to go through it alone!

It’s why I believe the most significant benefit of working with a business coach is that you get one-on-one time to discuss your specific needs.

During my 90 day intensives, as an example, I have a chance to take a deep dive into your numbers, your processes, your team, your clients, your struggles, and get to the root of what’s overwhelming you.

What I love about one-on-one coaching the most is that there’s no one, perfect way to build a business because each entrepreneur has a slightly different path. While, sure, there are pillars of successful businesses, everyone has varying circumstances, which require different strategies and approaches.

Final thoughts

If you’re ready to start taking your business to the next level, it’s time to get started with a coach! As your coach, I’ll help you establish your goals, set achievable benchmarks, and create a plan for success — whatever that looks like to you. With the right guidance, I know you’ll reach your potential and go from where you are now to the CEO you want to become.
